Leavenworth Winter Sports Club (LWSC) grooms 26 kilometers of trails (classic and skating) at four locations in the beautiful Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Washington. Five kilometers are lighted every night for skiing. At the Leavenworth Ski Hill they offer downhill skiing, snowboarding and a jumping facility. Nordic Conditions

Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding at Ski Hill
Just north of town on Wenatchee National Forest property, the Leavenworth Ski Hill offers downhill skiing on two groomed hills serviced by rope tows. It is open four days a week (three of which include night skiing) and all school holidays. Food, beverages and warmth are available at the historic Ski Hill Lodge. Alpine daily passes cost $12 for ages 5 to 17, cost $15.00 for skiers age 18 to 69; seniors ski for free and children age four and under ski free on the Bunny Hill. There is also an all day pass for $22 that includes 1.5 hours of tubing and unlimited alpine and nordic skiing. www.skileavenworth.org.

Highway Advisory
In cooperation with the Washington Department of Transportation, Stevens Pass has installed a Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) at the summit of Stevens Pass. By tuning to 1610 AM on your radio, you’ll be able to get the latest information on parking availability and road conditions as you approach the mountain. This service is in addition to parking updates on the current HAR radio at 1610 AM in Monroe, the snow report phone lines, our web site and the electronic sign at the Mountain View Chevron east of Sultan on Highway 2.

Leavenworth Power Sports Snowmobile Rentals
At Leavenworth power sports all rentals and tours are staged from their office in Leavenworth located at 321 9th Street, Leavenworth WA 98826, (in the Adventure Inn Complex) in the heart of the Bavarian Village. Customers renting ATV’s or snowmobiles with trailers will be able to pick them up at this location; they also offer free delivery with all of their rentals. Please note that the office is open by appointment only; please call or e-mail for reservations.
The Snowmobile Season begins December 1; please call to book as the calendar is beginning to fill up. They have added new snowmobiles for this season, and are looking forward to a great winter!

Leavenworth Ski Jumping
Ski jumping is up and running on the “D” hill, behind the lodge at the Leavenworth Ski Hill this winter. Skiers of all ages are encouraged to come out and give jumping a try. Coaches are on hand, by appointment, to instruct. Jumping skis, boots and helmet are required.

Free Guided Winter Life Snowshoe Tours
Jan. Saturdays & Sundays – Event, WINTER LIFE SNOWSHOE TOURS
Explore winter wildlife tours on a snowshoe walking tour with trained naturalists Saturdays and Sundays in January at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery. Meet at the Icicle River Ski Trail ticket booth. A different wildlife story is told on each tour. Learn to identify animal tracks and learn how local animals survive in the winter along Icicle Creek.
Space limited to 12 people. Must be at least 8 years old. Snowshoes provided for adults and children. Wear warm layered clothing. Tours 10 a.m. to noon.

Dog sledding
Dog Sledding is a great adventure that you and your family will really enjoy. Three local families have teamed up to offer dogsled rides to the public just 30 minutes West of Leavenworth. Together they have over 25 years of experience giving tours and running sled dogs. They have two teams of Alaskan Malamutes and three teams of Alaskan Huskies. You’ll be taken along a 6-8 mile loop on beautiful groomed trails. Each trail offers picturesque natural scenes that will leave you in awe of this winter wonderland.

It’s early morning, the sun is just about up. Your listening to the hum of the engine, people are talking and in the background there’s music playing. As the Snowcat arrives at the summit your guide lets everyone know to grab their gear and get ready for their first run. You walk out of the back of the Snowcat-cabin into thigh deep powder , you smile. Looking around you can see the Cascade Mountains in every direction, the view is awesome. You get your gear, click in and glide to the edge, look down and smile. Your guide smiles back, nods and drops over the edge, you take one more look around, give a small push and drop over. Building speed as you make your first turn carving a huge arc, the powder is flying all around you. The adrenaline is starting to pump and your feeling the rush. Then you realize this is only the start of an epic day with Leavenworth Snowcat Skiing!
