sun melting your cares away
as you sit in a mountain
meadow or by a crystal blue
mountain lake.

Bavarian Bike & Brews Festival
June 7 |
|
 |
IMBA sanctioned XC Bike
Race
 The
Bavarian Bike & Brew
Festival is unique in many
ways. The IMBA sanctioned XC
race features a spectacular,
but rigorous 8.6 mile loop
with 1800 ft elevation gain
per lap. Each lap has four
creek crossings, challenging
single track, and plenty of
water bars interlaced
throughout the most
spectacular scenery you have
ever seen. This is not a
course for the timid soul,
but will challenge all who
commit.

Sauer Mountain
 This
photo is from the Sauer
Mountain hike. This hike
starts in Anderson Canyon
off North Road near
Peshastin. The trail is
open from March 22 to
October 13th. It is several
miles round trip and has
significant elevation
gains. Formations of
sandstone catch the eye in
the lower elevation of the
hike, dense fir and pine
forests, and great 180
degree panoramic vistas
of the Icicle Ridge, Mount
Stewart, Tumwater Mountain
and Blewett Pass. You can
see all the way to
Wenatchee! Numerous flower
species are in abundance for
the next two months.
Photo hint for the month:
Use your built in fill flash
for close-up outdoor
pictures, in dark or even
bright locations--it will
give your photos better
tonal range and color.
