This is the time of year that the crowds are gone, the scenery is still beautiful, skiing is great, and you can have that quiet getaway. It's our Centennial year and we have lots of new and exciting events planned. All 2006 events are posted on our website and the new visitor guide is now available--call or e-mail us for your free copy.

"Good Morning America" chose us as their only Christmas town to feature in the month of December. A&E TV featured us in December as well as NW Backroads. The accolades continue and we want to thank our visitors for coming to create your special memories.

2006 Olympiad started skiing in Leavenworth

 Torin Koos grew up and graduated from Leavenworth. He started his x-country ski training here at the age of 7. We have some wonderful trails for the world class athlete or the novice. Come and enjoy! Nordic nights--5k of the 7k groomed trails are under lights. Two groomed hills with rope tows, historic lodge & 90 meter jump hill (retired in 1977) where athletes from all over the world competed. A lift has just been added to our tubing hill & 90 meter jump hill (retired in 1977).

In town we have twenty-six kilometers of groomed classic track and skating lanes at three areas around Leavenworth. A short distance from town we have 110 miles of snowmobile trails, and 729,000 acres of national forest land available for exploration. Just a 30 minute drive from Leavenworth is Mission Ridge. Their summit elevation is 6,820' which translates to sun and quality snow conditions. They just added a new high speed quad. They have 2,000 acres to explore with 66 acres of snowmaking. Stevens is just a 35 minute drive and offers 1,125 acres of terrain. Our area has something for everyone!

Relax & Breathe the fresh air

 We are having cold crisp star-filled nights and days with beautiful blue skies, white fluffy clouds and beautiful white snow. Bring your camera and enjoy the scenery.

Take a sleigh ride, snowmobile, or sit by a cozy fire and take in the beauty. It's the time of year with no festivals and the pace is slow and easy, come and enjoy. Choose from a romantic B&B, a fireplace jacuzzi suite, a cozy cabin or budget accommodations, the choices are endless.

March offers many wonderful concerts
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Leavenworth offers bluegrass, acoustic, Chamber music, and oompa in the restaurants and a variety of music at the Community Coffee house. In April choose from a choral festival, a nationally and internationally known gospel-singing group; the first African-American oriented choir to sing in the Mormon Tabernacle; also festival artist violist Mara Gearman rejoins the members of the Icicle Creek Piano Trio, for this final spring concert.
Thinking ahead to Easter and April,we have incredible Easter egg hunts, one where you can also visit with the farm animals. There will be a Bunny Time Tea Party with face painting and a cow train ride and individual time with the bunny, pictures taken and treats. The apple blossoms are spectacular. As soon as the snow melts wildflowers start popping through to create spectacular spring colors.
