Icicle Village Resort News
The Icicle Village Resort is again launching its latest expansion project, the one casualty the resort’s movie theater, which closed December 31. The 13 year-old Cinema closure was mostly due to the changes in movie projection technology. Film projection is going away, and new digital equipment is expensive. New digital projections range in cost from $40,000 to $80,000. While the Icicle Village Resort is sad to see the Junction Cinema go, we are very excited for what the future holds for the resort.
The Icicle Village Resort has started the construction on a new 2,600 square foot ballroom that will complement the existing 2,700 square feet Tumwater Ballroom, bringing the total amount of meeting space at the resort to almost 10,000 square feet, the largest amount in Leavenworth. The 14 new guest suites will include king beds, gas fireplaces, and large bathrooms. The new ballroom and guest suites are expected to be complete by July 1, 2014
One of the most exciting additions to the resort will be an expanded spa, with five massage treatment rooms, a steam room, and other amenities, anticipated to open in late April 2014. Dr. Chandra Villano, owner of Therapeutic Touch Wellness Spa at the resort now, will continue to help oversee the new spa. The new spa will be located where the Junction Cinema is now located.
The sports bar area will be remodeled to provide more seating. The arcade will be moved to a different area, and the current arcade will be extensively renovated into a very comfortable gathering area, celebrating the history of Leavenworth, with a mountain lodge atmosphere. Great coffee, local beer and wine, and a light menu are planned. The mini-golf will continue to be open as weather permits.Location: 565 Highway 2, Leavenworth, WA 98826 Email Icicle Junction (Replies will be made on the next weekday.)
