Leavenworth Winter Sports Club (LWSC) grooms 26 kilometers of trails (classic and skating) at four locations in the beautiful Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Washington. Five kilometers are lighted every night for skiing. At the Leavenworth Ski Hill they offer downhill skiing, snowboarding and a jumping facility.

Downhill ski and snowboard in deep powder at Stevens Pass or enjoy dry, sunny runs at Mission Ridge with fantastic views from on top of the Cascades and Washington’s best groomed runs only 36 miles – 57km from Leavenworth! Or visit the local ski hill right outside of town, Leavenworth Ski Hill, which features tubing and downhill skiing.

Enjoy a hot spiced cider by the open fire, and as an added attraction end your horse drawn sleigh ride with a sizzling steak dinner at Beaver Creek Lodge in front of the huge river rock fireplace.

From the Icicle Inn Drive 1.9 miles on Icicle Road and turn left on East Leavenworth Road. Continue 1/4 mile and you’ll see our sign. Turn right into our large parking lot.

Let our Holiday Sleighs take you back to yesteryear and become a part of your family tradition.  You and your whole family will enjoy gliding across open meadows and along the Icicle River in our horse-drawn sleighs with the majestic Stewart Mountain Range in the background. Warm up with hot chocolate, spiced cider and coffee in front of the wood stove. Warm blankets are provided for 1.5 mile ride which takes about 30 minutes.

Mountain snows transform the ranch for a season of horse-drawn sleigh rides. The sound of sleigh bells mixes with laughter and song as we glide through the forests and meadows on large group sleighs drawn by those gentle giants, the Draft Horses. Or, share a romantic private ride in an antique cutter sleigh with that special someone. After your ride return to our lodge, warm yourself by the wood stove, and sip hot spiced cider!

Snowmobile Tours with Mountain Springs Lodge

Power through miles of trails on a snowmobile with our partnership with Mountain Springs Lodge on Chiwawa Loop Road.

Fun, Action, Beauty and Excitement! – describe their guided snowmobile tours through the Cascade Mountains.  Ideal for the novice and expert alike!  Everything is provided: snowmobiles, guide, cold weather clothing and insulated boots.  Tours include: “Suzy’s Slip & Slide”, “Grandpa’s Ridge Rocker”, “Faultline Loop”, “Sno Cone”, “Mile High Extravaganza”, Bawana Bill’s Star Light Express”, and a dinner tour.

Ski jumping is up and running on the “D” hill, behind the lodge at the Leavenworth Ski Hill this winter.  Skiers of all ages are encouraged to come out and give jumping a try. Coaches are on hand, by appointment, to instruct.   Jumping skis, boots and helmet are required.

Free Guided Winter Life Snowshoe Tours

Jan. Saturdays & Sundays – Event, Winter Life Snowshoe Tours

Explore winter wildlife tours on a snowshoe walking tour with trained naturalists Saturdays and Sundays in January at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery.  Meet at the Icicle River Ski Trail ticket booth.  A different wildlife story is told on each tour.  Learn to identify animal tracks and learn how local animals survive in the winter along Icicle Creek.

Space limited to 12 people. Must be at least 8 years old. Snowshoes provided for adults and children. Wear warm layered clothing. Tours 10 a.m. to noon.

Northwest Dogsled Adventures – Dog Sledding is a great adventure that you and your family will really enjoy.  Northwest Dogsled Adventures is located in Cle Elum and is by appointment only. Offering 1 hour and 2 hour tours as soon as there is enough snow for a safe ride. Rides leave from Fish Lake (Leavenworth) area. The team is made up of Iditarod Veterans, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan and Rescues!

It’s early morning, the sun is just about up. You are listening to the hum of the engine, people are talking and in the background there’s music playing.  As the Snowcat arrives at the summit your guide lets everyone know to grab their gear and get ready for their first run. You  walk out of the back of the Snowcat-cabin into thigh deep powder , you smile.  Looking around you can see the Cascade Mountains in every direction, the view is awesome. You get your gear, click in and glide to the edge, look down and smile. Your guide smiles back, nods and drops over the edge, you take one more look around, give a small push and drop over.  Building speed as you make your first turn carving a huge arc, the powder is flying all around you. The adrenaline is starting to pump and you are feeling the rush. Then you realize this is only the start of an epic day with Leavenworth Snowcat Skiing!
